Fluoride Treatment in Helena, MT

Fluoride, a key mineral in many dental health routines, is naturally present in certain foods and beverages. Additionally, it can be directly applied to teeth for various oral health benefits. This mineral plays a crucial role in preventing tooth decay by enhancing the teeth's resistance to plaque and strengthening their overall structure, thereby reducing the onset of decay. Communities that add fluoride to their water supply often report fewer instances of cavities. The American Dental Association (ADA) and other esteemed organizations acknowledge these benefits of fluoride. At Melton Dental, we are proud to offer professional fluoride treatments for patients of all ages. For more information on how fluoride can improve your children's dental health, consider scheduling a consultation with Dr. Sean Melton in Helena, MT.

At Melton Dental, we offer an array of fluoride options to make the treatment accessible and comfortable for everyone. Typically, fluoride applications are done twice a year, right after a cleaning and dental exam. Depending on your chosen flavor, we prepare the fluoride in various forms, such as varnish, foam, gel, or liquid. This treatment is applied to the teeth for a specific duration, allowing ample time for the fluoride to penetrate the tooth enamel. For optimal benefits from the fluoride treatment, it's recommended to avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes afterward.

Fluoride treatment at Melton Dental offers various advantages for oral wellness, offering a valuable addition to routine dental care. A few of these perks are:

  • Can help reduce tooth sensitivity: Fluoride treatment may reduce tooth sensitivity, which is mostly provoked by unprotected dentin or a receding gumline
  • Stronger tooth enamel: Can help fix weakened enamel and avert additional decay
  • Cavity protection: Can help teeth become more protected from cavities and decay
  • Suited for every age: Good for patients of every age, from children to adults
  • Contributes to long-term mouth health: Fluoride treatment works alongside daily brushing, flossing, and dental cleanings to sustain ideal oral wellness and prevent oral issues

My first visit and what a great experience; despite the complexity of enhancing my smile and being in the chair 2 1/2 hours! Dr Melton snd his staff are top shelf. Professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. I’ll post before and after photos when my dental work is complete.

This was the best customer service I have ever had! My son was getting senior pictures this weekend and was supposed to get teeth whitened Friday. A staff member got sick so need to reschedule, but Dr. Melton called a staff member (Lenny (who was amazing)) see if there was anyway someone could come in on Saturday. They came in on their day off to whiten my sons' teeth! She was so kind, excellent customer service, made us feel welcome! We will be back, and I would highly recommend them to anyone! Thank you, Melton Dental!
